With over 40 years of professional experience, he began his career at the Ministry of Finance. He started as an Assistant Account Specialist and rose to the position of Chief Account Specialist.
In 1998, he joined Sabancı Holding as a Financial Coordinator. During his years at Sabancı Holding, he provided support on tax law, tax practices, corporate restructurings, tax audits, and tax disputes to leading industrial and service organizations in Turkey as well as Sabancı University. He also coordinated the group's Inflation Adjustment efforts for the years 2003-2004.
In 2005, leveraging his extensive experience, he founded his own firm, Vizyon İstanbul YMM A.Ş.
He has authored numerous articles published in sectoral journals and daily newspapers, primarily on inflation adjustment and transfer pricing. As of May 1, 2024, İbrahim Kocabey has joined the BDO Turkey family and currently serves as the BDO Turkey Tax Partner at the BDO Istanbul office.
