Cahit Gökçelik has 35 years of professional experience in customs and foreign trade legislation, customs disputes, computerized and simplified customs procedures, customs inspections. He provides services to companies, multinational companies, non-governmental organizations, operating in different sectors.

Between 1987 and 2005, he worked in the central customs administration. He served as Customs Investigator between 1987-1997, Head of the Department of the General Directorate of Customs between 1997-2002, and Deputy General Director of Customs between 2002-2005. Between 1996-2002, he worked as the Deputy Head of the Customs Modernization Project, which implemented the Customs Bilge automation system and contributed to Turkey’s customs legislation. In private sector he worked as the director general of an international logistics company between 2005-2008; and worked as the leader of the customs and foreign trade department of Deloitte Turkey between 2008-2018. He worked as an expert/key expert in customs administration projects such as restructuring of customs administration, redesigning of customs Bilge system, Intellectual Property Rights, Logistics Centers, TRNC Customs Automation. He gave Customs and Foreign Trade Courses at different universities. He has published 5 book in this area.

Cahit Gökçelik started to work in BDO Istanbul office in 2022 and continues his duty as BDO Turkey Consulting Partner.
