Can Kılıçkaya has been working at BDO Türkiye, in 2026. He has more than 30 years of professional experience across the public sector, corporate sector, and international audit and advisory firms. Throughout his career, he has developed extensive expertise in tax law and advisory, corporate finance, financial restructuring, debt and capital structure optimization, business valuation, investment processes, board advisory, and financial management. Kılıçkaya began his career at the Board of Account Experts of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Türkiye, where he served as an Account Expert and later as a Senior Account Expert. In these roles, he conducted financial and tax audits of companies operating across a wide range of industries. During the latter years of his public-sector career, he also carried out review and research assignments in the United Kingdom on behalf of the Turkish government. Following his career in the public sector, Kılıçkaya moved into the corporate sector, where he held senior executive positions in large-scale corporate groups, including Group Head of Finance, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Executive Committee Member, and Board Member. In these capacities, he was responsible for managing finance, accounting, budgeting and reporting, treasury, financing, banking relationships, legal affairs, human resources, taxation, and investment processes.
He subsequently joined international audit and advisory firms, where he served as Managing Partner and Head of Tax. In addition to leading tax and audit engagements, he provided and managed financial and strategic advisory services for companies, shareholders, investors, banks, and other financial institutions.
Kılıçkaya has extensive experience in corporate finance and financial restructuring, advising both companies and creditors. On the corporate side, his experience includes analyzing financial positions and debt structures, developing financial models, assessing sustainable debt levels and repayment capacity, developing financing and restructuring alternatives, and managing negotiations and processes with creditors. On the creditor side, he has advised banks and financial institutions on the assessment of restructuring and financing applications, feasibility analyses, evaluation of repayment capacity, and the post-restructuring monitoring and reporting of company performance. He has also undertaken various advisory engagements for state-owned banks and their subsidiaries.
Kılıçkaya currently provides board advisory services and is actively involved with portfolio management companies and venture capital investment funds in areas including investment assessment, valuation, investment committee processes, portfolio company monitoring, institutionalization, and value creation.
Kılıçkaya is a Sworn-in Certified Public Accountant and Independent Auditor. He also has extensive experience in tax advisory, tax audits and dispute management, transfer pricing, and international taxation.
